Privacy Policy
Effective 6 October 2026
The short version
EyeFly3D has no accounts and no analytics. Your camera feed and your photos are processed entirely on your iPhone and are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. The app makes one kind of network request in normal use: it asks a licence server for the optical calibration data for your phone model. That request contains your device model name and nothing about you.
1. We do not ask who you are
There is no sign-up, no login, no account and no profile. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or date of birth, and the app has no way to send them to us. We do not assign you an advertising identifier or any persistent user ID, and the app contains no advertising or marketing software of any kind.
2. The front camera
To place the 3D image correctly, the app needs to know where your eyes are. It uses Apple’s ARKit face tracking through the front-facing camera to work this out, continuously, while you are viewing 3D content.
- Camera frames are processed in memory on your device, in real time, and discarded. They are never written to storage.
- The only thing the app derives from them is the on-screen position of your two pupils, as a pair of coordinates. That number is handed straight to the rendering code and overwritten many times a second.
- No image, video, face mesh, face map or depth map of your face is ever recorded, saved, transmitted, or shared with us or with any third party.
- This data is never used to identify you, to build a profile, for advertising, for marketing, or for any purpose other than aiming the 3D image at your eyes.
- Eye tracking runs only while you are viewing content in the app. It stops when you leave the viewer or send the app to the background.
- You can decline camera access. The app still works; the 3D image is then aimed at a fixed, average head position instead of following you.
3. Taking photos and videos
When you use the Camera button, the app uses your iPhone’s rear cameras to take a photo or record a video, and the microphone to record sound with videos. On iPhone models that support it, the app can record 3D video using two rear cameras at once.
- What you take is saved straight to your Photos library, like any photo taken with the Camera app, and added to the app’s library. It is not uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- Converting it to 3D happens entirely on your iPhone, in the same way as any other item you add.
- The rear cameras and the microphone are used only while the app’s camera screen is open. The microphone is never used in the background, and never for eye tracking.
- You can decline camera or microphone access. The rest of the app still works; videos recorded without microphone access simply have no sound.
4. Your photos and videos
The app does not browse your photo library. It can only see the specific items you pick yourself using the standard iOS picker, which runs outside the app, under your control, and the photos and videos you take with the app’s camera.
- For each item you add, the app stores a reference to it, its title, and your chosen 3D format setting. This stays in the app’s private storage on your device.
- When the app converts a 2D photo or video into 3D, the converted copy is written to the app’s private storage on your device so it does not have to be made again. It is not uploaded.
- All conversion — depth estimation and stereo rendering — runs on your iPhone, using an on-device machine-learning model. Your media is not sent to a server for processing at any point.
- Removing an item from the app’s library deletes the app’s reference to it and any converted copy. Your original in the Photos app is untouched.
- Deleting the app removes the library, every converted copy, and all app settings. Photos and videos you took with the app’s camera stay in your Photos library.
5. The one network request
The optical film on your screen has to be matched to the exact pixel geometry of your phone model. The app obtains that calibration data from a licence server operated by our display-technology supplier.
- The request contains three things: your device model identifier (for example, “iPhone16,2”), a timestamp, and a cryptographic signature proving the request came from a licensed app.
- It does not contain your name, email, IP-based profile, advertising identifier, device serial number, UDID, location, contacts, photos, camera data, or anything else about you or your usage.
- The response — a set of optical parameters for your phone model — is cached on your device, so the request is made rarely rather than on every launch.
- Because the supplier is based outside Singapore, this request involves a transfer of the above technical data across borders. It contains no personal data.
- We receive no report, log or telemetry back from this server about you.
6. Analytics and crash reports
We do not operate any analytics, telemetry, attribution or crash-reporting service inside the app. There is no third-party SDK collecting behavioural data.
Separately, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymised App Store statistics and crash logs, but only if you have opted in to sharing analytics with developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. That is Apple’s mechanism and your choice; it is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not ours, and we cannot identify you from it.
7. Buying from eyefly3d.com is separate
This policy covers the app only. If you buy an EyeFly3D film from our website, that purchase — your name, address, payment and shipping details — is handled under the separate website privacy policy at https://eyefly3d.com/privacy-policy/. The app has no connection to your order and knows nothing about it.
8. What we hold
Taken together: we hold no personal data about you. Everything the app records lives on your own device, under your control, and is removed when you remove the app. There is no server-side database of EyeFly3D users because there are no EyeFly3D user accounts.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Act or similar laws — to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to its processing.
We can honour all of these trivially, because we hold nothing to disclose or delete. Your on-device data is already fully under your control: clear it in the app’s Settings, or delete the app. If you want to exercise a right formally, or you believe we hold something we have not described here, write to info@eyefly3d.com and we will respond within 30 days.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have. There is nothing to opt out of.
10. Children
EyeFly3D is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, of any age. Please also read Safety & Precautions: stereoscopic 3D is not recommended for children under six.
11. Security
Because your content never leaves your iPhone, its security rests on your device: use a passcode and keep iOS up to date. Data the app stores is held in its private container, protected by iOS file encryption. The licence request is sent over TLS and is cryptographically signed.
12. Changes
If we change what the app collects, we will update this policy and the effective date above, and describe the change in the App Store release notes. Material changes will be surfaced in the app. The current version is always available in the app under Settings, and at https://eyefly3d.com/app-privacy-policy/.
